Sorry for not blogging for a long long time. I finally just got internet in my apartment (it was crazy figuring out where to live because our real estate agent failed at his job but we have one now and it's quite nice) I started classes a few weeks ago, and they're pretty relaxed and easy (and i only have them on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!!) Anyway, here are the pictures that i do have, and eventually I'll start to put more up.

I took a long weekend and went to Rishikesh, home of yoga and spiritual tourism. It was beautiful, although the vibe was a bit on the touristy side. On the side of the street lots of wandering sadhus were sitting and meditating.

I really like the people that I've met in India so far. Kashi and Emma are from California and Margaux is from France.

There were cows all over, just wandering around.
Me.
The monkeys in Rishikesh were actually really friendly compared to the ones in Mussoorie. They crossed at the bridge just like everyone else, and a few times got too close for comfort.

Rishikesh is really cool because it's right on the Ganges river, and the town is built up on either side.

This is a statue of Shiva at sunset.
We went to a puja, which is like a Hindu fire ceremony. It was really interesting and involved lots of chanting, and the passing around of plates with big flames on them. You had to wave it in a circle around your head then pass it along.
On the way back to the bus station we walked through a long and winding vegetable market. There are some crazy vegetables that I'm a little bit afraid to try, like spiky cucumbers.

This is what auto shops look like in India.
Dharamshala is where a lot of Tibetan refugees live, so it's a really interesting town. I went there to visit Umer, a Kashmiri guy that I met on my first day in Delhi (and who is now my boyfriend.)
This is the view from my hotel room in Dharamshala. It's a really cool place, but I didn't take my camera out with me because it was raining almost the whole time.
These are pictures from brunch with my friends. I've decided to make it a Sunday tradition that one of our houses hosts brunch. Most of these girls are EAP students, but it's something that we can invite Indian friends to as well.
Last weekend at brunch i was chopping Indian peppers and somehow ended up chemically burning myself with the result that it felt like my hands were on fire for 8.5 hours straight and I tried lots of unconventional things to make the agonizing pain disappear.
I don't have any pictures from my apartment or of the Delhi University campus, but as soon as I can take some pictures, I'll try to post them up here! I hope everything is going well for all of you!!
